Cahoots is the most dynamic and advanced co-working space anywhere in the midwest. With co-working space and lease by the desk business models becoming more and more popular in real estate, Cahoots stands out as an exceptional workspace and service provider for the innovative and start-up community. When Cahoots opened in Ann Arbor, it created an eco-system of innovation for the highly successful start-up community that already existed in Ann Arbor. Leveraging the experience of 4 very successful tech entrepreneurs, Cahoots operates with the sole mission to serve the innovation community as a place for working, networking and tech events in Ann Arbor. Cabrio was fortunate to have joined the founders of Cahoots as the real estate management and advisory partner and we have been involved since the inception of the project in 2014 beginning with the original acquisition of the properties.
In Ann Arbor, you simply have to mention the words “Blind Pig” and everyone knows you are talking about the iconic live music venue and bar that has been graced with the likes of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. When the longtime owners of The Blind Pig decided to retire from the business, several Ann Arbor entrepreneurs and business owners joined together to form a partnership, buy the business and maintain this important artistic and cultural venue just as it has been known for so many decades. Cabrio was incredibly fortunate to lead this partnership in the purchase of the business, and the real estate, to control the destiny of this venue for years to come. We were able to structure the partnership in a way that allowed many people in the Ann Arbor community, both locally and those that have ties to Ann Arbor but live afar, to participate and own a piece of this business. It is truly rewarding to have the opportunity to preserve such a wonderful part of the Ann Arbor cultural fabric. It’s also incredibly cool to not only have hosted big-time names from the past, but also modern acts like Quinn XCII, Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers, and Laith al-Saadi.
